Terracotta Daughters
Artist Prune Nourry reflects upon gender preference in China and infiltrates the local culture through the familiar symbol of the Terracotta Soldiers, by creating an army of 116 life-size Terracotta Daughters. The army of Terracotta Daughters will be back to China in 2015 to be buried in a "contemporary archaeological site" until 2030. http://www.prunenourry.com/en/projects/terracotta-daughters
By 2030, projections suggest that more than 25% of Chinese men in their late 30s will never
have married.
